Meat Wrapper / Sanitation

Position Summary

Responsible for wrapping and labeling meat products using a wrapping machine. Stocks display cases, operates meat grinder, Ross tenderizer, moisture‑fat tester, and manual pallet jack. Provides a high level of member service.

Job Duties

• Inspect and reassemble equipment sanitized the previous night.
• Rework display case and rotate product.
• Restock meat room supplies and boxes of meat up to 70 lbs (and up to 99 lbs in later tasks).
• Stock meat display cases and follow department production procedures and standards for quality and consistency of finished product.
• Take large trays of styrofoam‑packaged meat from wheeled racks and place individual packages into automatic wrapping machines, following safety and security procedures.
• Set label machine according to product type and price, print and apply labels to products.
• Place wrapped and labeled meat on large trays of wheeled carts and stock in the display case by reaching through sliding windows or moving rack to floor.
• Operate meat grinder, dump meat into the machine, and check the fat content of each batch.
• Operate tenderizing machine and follow proper department production procedures and standards for quality and consistency.
• Clean and sanitize the area throughout the day, including windows, and maintain proper temperatures and health‑code sanitation standards.
• Clean and sanitize the meat room, disassemble equipment, power‑wash the room at end of day, wash surfaces and equipment, empty drain screen, and operate commercial dishwasher or three‑compartment sinks.
• Perform routine maintenance for machinery, equipment, and implements.
• Provide prompt and courteous member service.
• Ensure proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Operate vehicles, equipment, or machinery as needed.
• Assist with department duties and other warehouse departments as necessary.
