Meat/Seafood Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee sales and operations of the Meat & Seafood Department.
• Plan, order, and prepare cutting lists; process meat according to department goals and standards to maximize sales and gross profit.
• Ensure correct ordering, receiving, unloading, storage, and rotation of merchandise and displays.
• Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions.
• Make recommendations on merit increases via the bi-annual performance review process.
• Regularly attend and participate in in-store meetings.
• Recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
• Exercise independent judgment to address team member concerns; document and take corrective actions when needed, including collaboration with HR partners for performance management.
• Ensure maximum productivity and efficiency by creating and adjusting schedules and staffing levels.
• Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
• Lead a team to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest customer experience.
• Serve as a Key Carrier for the store and/or act as a Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age with a basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures.
• Minimum of 2 years’ meat cutting experience in the grocery or restaurant industry, including leadership experience.
• Capable of standing for up to 4 hours continuously and a total of 8 hours per shift; walking up to 2 miles per 8-hour shift.
• Able to work inside a temperature-controlled area.
• Good vision required for using sharp knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer.
• Ability to lift and carry products horizontally/vertically between 25 to 90 lbs., from 4” to 60”, a distance up to 10 feet for 20 hours.
• Ability to use a pallet jack to move pallets horizontally up to 500 lbs., requiring a force of up to 85 lbs., a distance up to 100 feet for up to 5 hours.
• Ability to horizontally move racks of products weighing up to 70 lbs., requiring a force up to 25 lbs., for a distance up to 50 feet for up to 10 hours.
• Ability to move tables weighing up to 70 lbs., requiring a force greater than 35 lbs., a distance up to 2 feet for up to 1 hour.
• Flexible schedule to accommodate business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude toward team members and customers.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $21.40 - $34.25 per hour. Pay is determined based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
