Responsibilities

• Provides a high level of customer service, practicing safe food handling procedures and a high level of product knowledge and preparation techniques.
• Receives, stores, and grinds meats; unloads and transports fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery truck.
• Counts and weighs incoming articles and compares results against an invoice; examines meats in storage and rotates meats to avoid aging.
• Aids customers with questions, special orders and needs, while maintaining a positive, customer focused work environment.
• Knows weekly ad items; gives customers direction of product location throughout the store, and performs and follows our “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4” Programs.
• Adheres to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent, and basic math, weights and measures knowledge.
• Dependable and reliable, with the ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior, positive attitude, and ability to interact with customers.
• Knowledge of weekly ad items, ability to direct customers to product locations, and understanding of the “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4” Programs.
• Standing for up to 4 hours continuously, walking up to 2 miles per 8 hours, lifting/carrying up to 90 lbs., operating equipment such as a pallet jack, moving racks and tables, and using sharp knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine and tenderizer.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $16.20 - $21.85 / hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
