Overview of Responsibilities

• Provides a high level of customer service, practicing safe food handling procedures and a high level of product knowledge and preparation techniques.
• Receives, stores, and grinds meats; unloads and transports fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery truck.
• Counts and weighs incoming articles and compares results against an invoice; examines meats in storage and rotates meats to avoid aging.
• Aids customers with questions, special orders and needs, while maintaining a positive, customer focused work environment.
• Gives customers direction of product location throughout the store, and performs and follows our “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4” Programs.
• Adheres to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent, and basic math, weights and measures knowledge.
• Dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Outgoing and friendly, with the ability to interact with customers and maintain a positive attitude.
• Knowledge of weekly ads, and the ability to perform general housekeeping in the department, including cleaning and sanitizing work areas.
• Ability to adhere to safety, health, weights and measures regulations, and company recipes.
• Standing for up to 4 hours continuously, walking up to 2 miles per 8 hours, lifting/carrying up to 90 lbs., operating equipment such as a pallet jack, moving racks of products, and moving tables.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.70 - $25.25 / hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant. Benefits include: competitive pay, sick time, vacation accrual, opportunities for career growth, 15% discount for you and one other family member, and more. Eligibility for benefits may vary based on location.
