About the role

Available work shifts are Monday: 2p - 10p, Tuesday: 2p - 10p, Wednesday: 2p -10p, Thursday: off, Friday: 2p - 10p, Saturday: off, Sunday: 2p - 10p. Length of Time Sprouts anticipates requiring coverage of these hours is 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service
• PRACTICE SAFE FOOD HANDLING PROCEDURES
• Practice a high level of product knowledge and preparation techniques
• Receive, store, and grind meats
• Unload and transport fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery truck
• Count and weigh incoming articles and compare results against an invoice
• Examine meats in storage and rotate meats to avoid aging
• Provide a high level of prompt and friendly customer service
• Aid customers with questions, special orders, and needs
• Maintain a positive, customer-focused work environment
• Know weekly ad items
• Give customers direction of product location throughout the store
• Follow the “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4” Programs
• Adhere to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent with basic math, weights, and measures knowledge
• Dependable and reliable
• Outgoing and friendly behavior; positive attitude; ability to interact with customers
• Flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays
• Good communication skills; ability to take direction and participate in a team environment
• Ability to stand for up to 4 hours continuously, walk up to 2 miles per 8 hours, use a pallet jack to move up to 500 lbs. for up to 5 hours, move racks of products weighing up to 70 lbs. for up to 10 hours, and move tables weighing up to 70 lbs. for up to 1 hour
• Sharp vision for using sharp knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer
• Able to lift/carry products horizontally/vertically between 25 to 90 lbs., from 4” to 60”, a distance up to 10 feet for 20 hours
