About the role
Perform general product preparation, clean-up, and stock work in the Meat department while providing customer service. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Cut, grind, slice, prepare, process, trim, tenderize, seal, package, wrap, bag, price, prefabricate, date, label, scale, merchandise, and sell meat products in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain accurate and updated department temperature logs.
- Stock and display meat items safely and in accordance with company standards.
- Check product quality, ensure proper rotation, and maintain freshness.
- Keep sales areas, backrooms, coolers, carts, tools, and supplies clean, organized, and in designated areas.
- Maintain clean, safe, and clutter-free floors.
- Provide excellent customer and associate relations through effective communication.
- Unload trucks, sort orders, and place products in the proper cooler location.
- Wash and sanitize equipment following company and health department policies.
- Serve customers promptly and cheerfully, providing high-quality foods and a friendly impression.
- Support store sales and profits through retail operations and marketing programs.
- Adhere to company policies, including maintaining a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
- Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
Requirements
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to read shelf tags, signs, and product labels.
- Must be able to work with cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and operate equipment.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to tactfully and calmly handle stressful situations while maintaining a positive impression on associates and customers.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.

Qualifications
- Desired: Meat work experience or similar experience in food preparation.
- Past work record reflecting dependability and integrity.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling.
