About the role
Supervises and coordinates activities of 2 to 15 employees in the meat area. Interviews and hires applicants, orders product and supplies, maintains paperwork and bookkeeping, performs a variety of meat cutting and wrapping duties including using meat saw, slicer, grinder, tenderizer, wrapping and weight equipment, stocks shelves and cases, serves customers by obtaining orders, receives money and makes change, and does general cleaning.
Responsibilities
- Use hand, arms, and fingers to handle tools or operate power equipment.
- Work in standing position for 8 hours a day.
- Cut and trim meat, poultry and fish to size.
- Use basic math to measure and estimate material quantities.
- Keep work station clean and sanitary.
- Lift and handle bulky materials and products.
Desired, non-essential functions
- Weigh, wrap and price merchandise.
- Stock display cases.
- Take customer orders.
- Receive money and make change.
