About the Role
Plan, organize, train, and direct Meat department associates; perform production and customer service functions; maximize store sales and profits while demonstrating the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Develop maximum customer relations through friendliness, courtesy, and implementation of all company policies.
- Assist in store security and handle customer complaints.
- Maintain accurate and updated temperature logs for the department and train associates on proper recording procedures.
- Perform and direct pricing, displaying, and merchandising of products, ensuring proper signage, rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and space allocation.
- Provide input on department budgets, goals, and results.
- Train and develop Meat department employees, emphasizing customer courtesy, productivity, and proper utilization of technical skills.
- Implement company programs and adhere to policies, particularly maintaining a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
- Make recommendations regarding hiring, firing, disciplining, demoting, transferring, and evaluating Meat department associates.
- Promote, communicate, and implement company initiatives and process improvements in a positive manner.
- Manage people and organize workloads effectively.
- Supervise and coach direct reports, complete performance reviews, and provide feedback.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment, managing conflict in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues.
- Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Requirements

- Understanding of all key components of department operations.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling.
Qualifications (Desired)
- Meat work experience or similar experience in food preparation.
- Past work record reflecting dependability and integrity.
