Meat Department Manager

About the Role

This position leads daily department operations in a retail store, ensuring staff training, staffing levels, and adherence to company standards and goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory, ensuring product quality and freshness.
• Validate received orders and ensure proper storage.
• Supervise team tasks including stocking, production, and quality control.
• Maintain product knowledge, sales promotions, and store standards.
• Execute weekly plans, manage schedules, labor, and payroll.
• Lead staffing, training, performance management, and development of associates.
• Develop department goals and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and safety guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked department and meet performance metrics.
• Participate in meetings and implement company policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; retail experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of retail operations and management systems.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; bilingual skills desirable.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently, occasional up to 50 pounds.
• Requires standing, walking, bending, and exposure to varied store environments.
