About the role
The Meat Department Coordinator manages Meat Department operations, including scheduling, gross profit, productivity, budgeting, inventory and reporting. They are responsible for meat and seafood processing and merchandising. They model and provide excellent, professional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership for the Meat Department and serves as a member of the Store Operations Committee (SOC)
- Creates and nurtures an environment for delivering a consistently excellent customer service experience
- Oversees meat department operations and management, including scheduling, gross profit, productivity, budgeting, inventory, and reporting
- Trains, supervises and evaluates all meat department staff
- Orders meat products and supplies
- Responsible for meat processing and merchandising
- Protects the health and safety of all department members and ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service
- Journey level meat cutter; extensive experience in all aspects of retail meat operations including product knowledge, ordering, processing, merchandising and sanitation
- Knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and inventorying procedures; ability to apply this knowledge to meet set standards of performance
- Demonstrated organizational and planning skills
- Creative, solution oriented approach to problem solving and change
- Excellent leadership, teambuilding, problem solving and communication skills
- Skilled in coaching and accountability
- Computer knowledge and skills including Microsoft Office products and file management
- Must be willing to accommodate transferring between PCC locations as needed, depending on the needs of the company
- Must be able to meet physical demands of position including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion and lifting up to 40 LBS
- A Meat Cutters License is required
- A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required
- If hired into this role, a Certified Food Protection Manager certification (for example ServSafe) is required (paid for by PCC)
- If hired into this role, a CPR/First Aid Certification is required (paid for by PCC)

Starting Wage: $35.65 / hour
