Meat Cutter Full Time

About the Role

Receives, rotates, cuts, wraps, and merchandises fresh and processed meats, including grinds. Assists in merchandising of seafood, prepared foods, cheeses, pre-packed deli, and the rotisserie chicken area. Helps with meat selection and custom cuts for Members. Maintains sanitation and safety standards in the meat department.

Responsibilities

• Engage with Members by making recommendations and answering questions about meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by Members.
• Cut, grind, and process fresh meats to company standards; weigh, package, wrap, and label products.
• Ensure the meat case showcases all available products and maintains appropriate inventory levels.
• Stock and rotate meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates.
• Dispose of damaged or expired products following established guidelines.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department, including coolers and freezers.
• Inspect and store meat upon delivery to ensure quality standards are met.
• Receive and unpack meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses in coolers and freezers.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments.
• Support club policies, compliance, and flawless execution while holding yourself accountable.
• Act with honesty, integrity, and a member-first mindset to address concerns.
• Ensure a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for Members and team members.
• Deliver service excellence, resolve Member concerns, and uphold GOLD Member Standards (Greet, Anticipate, Appreciate).
• Work as a team to maintain GOLD club standards: fully stocked, clean, organized, and visually appealing.
• Understand department performance reporting and the impact of consistent execution on business success.

Requirements

• Completion of a training program or apprenticeship.
• Previous meat cutting experience.
• Knowledge of automatic or hand wrapping machines preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Regular, predictable full attendance is essential.

Working Conditions

• Most time spent moving about on hard surfaces; occasional bending, handling, pulling, reaching, or stooping.
• Frequent lifting of objects up to 30 pounds; may require lifting/moving objects over 30 pounds with assistance.
• Work in a cooler area with frequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises; occasional exposure to cleaning agents.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $21.25 - $26.63 per hour. Actual salaries vary based on factors including location, education, experience, and qualifications.
