Meat Cutter Apprentice

Role Overview: Responsible for accurately cutting, preparing, and merchandising various types of meats according to company standards, ensuring quality and safety. Contributes to store profitability by efficiently handling meat products, maintaining a clean and organized department, and providing excellent customer service. Key Duties Cut, weigh, and package meats such as steaks and chops for individual servings.Produce value-added products following established guidelines.Trim and bone carcass sections to create cooking cuts.Prepare ground meats, sausage, and other products per recipes.Price, wrap, and label products accurately using department scales.Maintain proper stock levels and merchandising of shelves and displays.Assist in inventory management by notifying managers of supply needs.Ensure adherence to safety, food safety, and sanitation standards.Provide knowledgeable assistance and suggestive selling to customers.Perform additional tasks as assigned, including support in other departments if needed. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or GED.Preferred experience in retail or meat cutting roles.Ability to read, interpret documents, and perform basic math.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions.Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Physical & Environment Requirements: Must lift/move up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in varied temperatures and conditions typical of retail environments.
