About the role

A Day In The Life As a Meat Cutter Apprentice, you’ll work side-by-side with experienced meat cutters to learn the craft of cutting, trimming, and preparing a variety of meat products. You’ll assist with setting up displays, maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards, and providing excellent customer service. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, perfect for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys helping others, and is eager to grow their skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform meat cutting, trimming, and preparation
• Assist with setting up product displays
• Maintain cleanliness and adhere to food safety standards
• Provide excellent customer service and answer product-related questions
• Work in refrigerated environments and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Follow instructions precisely and maintain organized workspaces
• Collaborate with team members to contribute to a positive store culture
• Use and learn meat department tools and equipment

Requirements

• Willingness to learn and develop meat cutting skills through on-the-job training and mentorship
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Basic knowledge of sanitation and safe handling practices for raw meat
• Friendly and helpful attitude with customer service skills
• Physical capability to lift up to 40 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in refrigerated environments
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
• Willingness to partner with fellow associates and contribute to a positive team environment
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn how to use meat department tools and equipment
