The Meat Clerk's role is to assist and support the Meat Department by providing a high level of customer service, practicing safe food handling procedures, and performing a variety of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Stock and merchandise fresh and frozen cases
• Update product pricing as necessary
• Ensure product quality, protection, accuracy, and proper rotation in coolers
• Rewrap meat packages as needed
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation requirements
• Ensure great customer experience
• Maintain pork rind rack clean and organized
• Keep meat displays clean and presentable
• Store cleaning supplies properly
• Advertise department products
• Start time: 5:00 am
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• 1+ years meat department experience

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to sit, stand, and use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls
• Vision abilities including close vision and ability to adjust focus
• Work environment typical of office and retail store; noise level ranges from quiet to loud
• Heavy work: exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects
• Subject to inside environmental conditions: protection from weather but not necessarily from temperature changes
• Walk and work in freezer and refrigerator cooler as needed throughout the day
