MEAT/CLERK

Responsibilities

• Perform general clean-up and stock work in the Meat department
• Provide customer service
• Work weekends and holidays
• Engage customers and associates with effective written and verbal communication
• Read and understand shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins
• Multi-task, set priorities, present information professionally, and work with all levels of the organization
• Show personal initiative and follow through to completion
• Work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and operate production equipment safely
• Communicate with customers and associates
• Unload and store merchandise, prepare and display foods according to company standards, recipes, and policies
• Maintain sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and organized
• Keep floors clean, safe, and free from clutter
• Clean and sanitize cookware and utensils according to company and Health Department policies and procedures
• Maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and space allocation for merchandise
• Maintain equipment and facilities according to company policies and procedures
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as State and Federal laws
• Operate cash register in accordance with company procedures, as applicable
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues
• Support and assist through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults

Qualifications

• Past work record reflecting dependability and integrity
• Previous experience in food preparation
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling
• Experience in grocery retail and customer service
