MEAT/CLERK

Responsibilities

• Perform general clean-up and stock work in the Meat department.
• Provide customer service.
• Work weekends and holidays.
• Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins.
• Multi-task, set priorities, present information professionally, and work with all levels of the organization.
• Show personal initiative and follow through to completion.
• Work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and operate production equipment.
• Communicate with customers and associates.
• Unload and store merchandise, prepare and display foods according to company standards, recipes, and policies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of sales areas, backrooms, and coolers.
• Keep floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
• Clean and sanitize cookware and utensils according to company and Health Department policies and procedures.
• Maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and space allocation for merchandise.
• Maintain equipment and facilities according to company policies and procedures.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as State and Federal laws.
• Operate cash register in accordance with company procedures, as applicable.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
• Support and assist through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.

Qualifications

• Past work record reflecting dependability and integrity.
• Previous experience in food preparation.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling.
• Experience in grocery retail and customer service.
