Responsibilities
- Perform general clean-up and stock work in the Meat department.
- Provide customer service.
- Work weekends and holidays.
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins.
- Multi-task, set priorities, present information professionally, and work with all levels of the organization.
- Show personal initiative and follow through to completion.
- Work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and operate production equipment.
- Communicate with customers and associates.
- Unload and store merchandise, prepare and display foods according to company standards, recipes, and policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of sales areas, backrooms, and coolers.
- Keep floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
- Clean and sanitize cookware and utensils according to company and Health Department policies and procedures.
- Maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and space allocation for merchandise.
- Maintain equipment and facilities according to company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as State and Federal laws.
- Operate cash register in accordance with company procedures, as applicable.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
- Support and assist through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
Qualifications
- Past work record reflecting dependability and integrity.
- Previous experience in food preparation.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling.
- Experience in grocery retail and customer service.
