Meat Clerk

Position Summary

Cardenas Markets is seeking a retail store Meat Clerk to join our team. The Meat Clerk is responsible for various tasks including washing, inspecting, and rotating meat products, verifying prices, ordering and inventorying meats, seafood, and poultry, selling products by providing customers with necessary information, ensuring neat appearance of the department and meat displays, and complying with sanitation and health guidelines.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Work professionally as part of the team and provide excellent customer service
• Verify prices, hang current sales signs, and remove out-of-date sales signs
• Order and inventory required meats, seafood, and poultry
• Sell products by providing customers with information needed to make product-related decisions
• Ensure neat appearance of department and meat displays
• Comply with sanitation and health guidelines

Skills And Qualifications

• Valid Food Handlers Card
• Prior food preparer experience at a grocery store preferred
• Must be friendly and people-oriented
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Physical Demands And Work Conditions

• WALKING: Continuously, throughout the shift, while moving about the store and obtaining product
• STANDING: Continuously, throughout the shift
• LIFTING: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs
