Meat Associate Part Time

About the role

This role is responsible for preparing and producing meat products, packaging and labeling them according to programs, merchandising them according to flight plans and merchandising expectations, stocking backroom cases and buckets, notifying the Meat Manager about product and supply needs, working as a team with other departments and stores to achieve growth, understanding basic functions of arithmetic, communicating tasks and cleaning steps, following safety and food safety guidelines, and adhering to guest experience guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and Produce Meat Products to Production Planner
• Package and Label Meat Products per program plan
• Mercandise Meat Products per Flight plan/Merchandising Expectations
• Stock Backroom with Meat Products – Rotating and Dating Cases/Buckets
• Notify the Meat Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered
• Work as a team with other departments and Stores to achieve growth in our SpartanNash Retail stores
• Understand basic functions of adding, subtracting, multiplying and division
• Communicate tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and cleaning steps completed to other associates
• Follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines
• Follow all Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations
• Follow Guest Experience Guidelines

Requirements

• High School Diploma (GED) preferred
• One year of retail or related experience preferred
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents
• Basic mathematical skills
• Detail Oriented

Qualifications

• Physical Requirements: May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate is required to stand and walk for extended periods of time and may bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures) and is exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
