Meat Associate

About the role

This role is responsible for preparing and producing meat products, packaging and labeling them according to programs, merchandising them as per flight plans and merchandising expectations, stocking backrooms with meat products, rotating and dating cases/buckets, notifying the Meat Manager about product and supply needs, working as a team with other departments and stores to achieve growth in SpartanNash Retail stores, understanding basic functions of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, communicating tasks, recipes, weights, and measures, and cleaning steps completed to other associates, following all personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety guidelines, adhering to food safety and cleaning expectations, and complying with guest experience guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and Produce Meat Products to Production Planner
• Package and Label Meat Products per program plan
• Mercandise Meat Products per Flight plan/Merchandising Expectations
• Stock Backroom with Meat Products – Rotating and Dating Cases/Buckets
• Notify the Meat Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered
• Work as a team with other departments and Stores to achieve growth in our SpartanNash Retail stores
• Understand basic functions of adding, subtracting, multiplying and division
• Communicate tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and cleaning steps completed to other associates
• Follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines
• Follow all Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations
• Follow Guest Experience Guidelines

Requirements

• A High School Diploma (GED) preferred
• One year of retail or related experience preferred
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents
• Basic mathematical skills
• Detail Oriented

Physical Requirements

• May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
• Subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures)
• Exposed to outside weather conditions
• Subject to noise levels in the work environment (low to moderate)
