About the role
Festival Foods is a Wisconsin grocer dedicated to community service and guest satisfaction. We operate 40+ full-service supermarkets across Wisconsin. The Meat Assistant Department Manager oversees daily operations, supports a great team, and ensures guests receive top-quality products and service.
Responsibilities
- Support the Meat Department Manager in their absence and step in as needed.
- Create a positive work environment by training, mentoring, and developing associates.
- Collaborate with the Meat Department Manager to write and conduct performance reviews, and conduct corrective action as appropriate.
- Lead by example, maintain proper stock levels, and ensure accurate pricing and merchandising.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workspace in compliance with company standards.
- Monitor sales and inventory to maximize department profitability.
- Work closely with the Store Director, Meat Director, Training & Execution Specialists, and other department managers to exceed expectations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 3+ years of leadership experience (at least 1 year as a manager) in retail, food service, fast food, or restaurant settings.
- WI Certified Food Manager License (Festival will reimburse for obtaining).
- Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team.
- Great communication skills and customer-focused mindset.
- Proficiency with technology and computer systems.
- A solid understanding of warehouse operations in a retail or grocery setting.
- A commitment to maintaining high food safety and quality standards.
