About the role

Festival Foods is a Wisconsin grocer dedicated to community service and guest satisfaction. We operate 40+ full-service supermarkets across Wisconsin. The Meat Assistant Department Manager oversees daily operations, supports a great team, and ensures guests receive top-quality products and service.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Meat Department Manager in their absence and step in as needed.
  • Create a positive work environment by training, mentoring, and developing associates.
  • Collaborate with the Meat Department Manager to write and conduct performance reviews, and conduct corrective action as appropriate.
  • Lead by example, maintain proper stock levels, and ensure accurate pricing and merchandising.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workspace in compliance with company standards.
  • Monitor sales and inventory to maximize department profitability.
  • Work closely with the Store Director, Meat Director, Training & Execution Specialists, and other department managers to exceed expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of leadership experience (at least 1 year as a manager) in retail, food service, fast food, or restaurant settings.
  • WI Certified Food Manager License (Festival will reimburse for obtaining).
  • Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team.
  • Great communication skills and customer-focused mindset.
  • Proficiency with technology and computer systems.
  • A solid understanding of warehouse operations in a retail or grocery setting.
  • A commitment to maintaining high food safety and quality standards.
