Measurement Technician

Job Functions and Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain and calibrate turbine, Coriolis, ultrasonic, and orifice meters
  • Install, maintain and calibration of pressure, temperature and other transmitters
  • Install, maintain radio and cell communications
  • Make orifice plate changes to accommodate customer flow rates
  • Resolve measurement issues, including accounting for unaccounted for product
  • Recognize malfunctions in individual equipment components and perform maintenance as necessary
  • Ability to monitor and analyze measurement data and the ability to react to this data
  • Interface with gas control and plant operations
  • Installation, and maintenance of various flow computers
  • Interpersonal skills required to interface with customers and all other crafts
  • Maintain clean and safe working environment
  • Make any or all repairs as deemed reasonable and safe
  • Maintain accurate records shutdown and safety checks
  • Maintain all required documentation for process safety management
  • Operate a company vehicle
  • Maintain the company vehicle at all times to ensure safety and equipment that will be used to operate
  • Maintain tools and equipment issued
  • Work weekends and overtime on an as needed basis

Minimum Essential Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected teams, personnel, and vendors; able to work in a self-directed work team
  • Must become proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software modules, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must work with a minimum of supervision and be able to manage their time when given multiple tasks.
  • Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objectives
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required

Prior to Qualifications

  • Two year associates degree in instrumentation or equivalent on the job training
  • Two years’ experience in petrochemical industry
  • Experience working in a team environment, self-starter, and ability to work with peers in collaborative efforts
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with peers and other crafts
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull at least a minimum of 50lbs.
  • Able to work in changing climate conditions.
  • Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.
