Measurement Technician
About the role
The Measurement Technician position plays a crucial role in maintaining, installing, testing, and repairing all devices associated with Measurement field operations processes and equipment. This role involves learning to calibrate and maintain ExxonMobil measurement equipment, securing measurement samples and/or analysis, running tests, and collecting data according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Additionally, the technician will learn to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all measurement equipment, witness the calibration of purchasers' meters, operate ExxonMobil SCADA systems, and monitor and track Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs for all sales and rotating equipment.
Responsibilities
- Learns to calibrate and maintain ExxonMobil measurement equipment, securing measurement samples and/or analysis, run tests and collect data per SOPs alongside an experienced technician.
- Learns to maintain, troubleshoot and repair all measurement equipment alongside an experienced technician.
- Witnesses the calibration of purchasers’ meters.
- Learns to operate ExxonMobil SCADA systems.
- Maintains required tracking for daily tasks and performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor, to include special projects.
- Learns to monitor and track PM program for all sales and rotating equipment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
- Knowledgeable and has an understanding of basic oilfield production and/or measurement equipment with mechanical ability and experience preferred.
- 3.5 years of oil and gas experience, 2 years of measurement experience, or 1 year as a Lease Operator or equivalent experience preferred.
- A current valid vehicle operator’s license with an insurable driving record is required.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good verbal and written skills.
- Duties require close vision, distance vision, and color vision. Willing and able to work in hazardous environments.
- Must be open to the employment of new procedures, technologies and equipment that have the capability of optimizing Pioneer’s field operations and must have the capability of collecting and documenting any data necessary to evaluate new procedures, technologies and equipment as may be employed and tested from time to time. Must be adaptable to change, motivated and be a self-starter.
- Able to be on call nights and/or holidays. May include unscheduled overtime.
