Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities, assignments, and materials under the direction of the teacher.
• Administers a variety of materials and assignments, including tests, homework, grades papers, and folders.
• Administers first aid and provides medical assistance as needed.
• Aids students with personal care needs due to medical conditions or physical limitations.
• Attends meetings and in-service presentations to acquire and convey information relevant to job functions.
• Convenes with teachers and parents regularly to discuss student progress and IEP objectives.
• Instructs students in various activities such as academic subjects, social skills, daily living skills, etc.
• Maintains instructional materials and student files/records.
• Maintains a safe and positive learning environment by monitoring students during assigned periods.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of instructional procedures and age-appropriate student activities.
• Understanding of safety practices and conflict resolution techniques.
• Skills in adapting to changing work priorities, communicating with diverse groups, and maintaining confidentiality.
