Responsibilities

• Pick up meals from the program site and assist in meal packing if needed.
• Deliver meals to senior citizens and eligible adults in a timely and courteous manner.
• Report safety, environmental, or social service needs of participants to the supervisor.
• Complete accurate timesheets and odometer sheets.
• Clean and maintain food delivery equipment and keep the vehicle sanitary.
• Maintain accurate route slips and communicate any changes to the supervisor.
• Distribute and collect donation envelopes for the program weekly.
• Accurately maintain up-to-date meal counts.
• Adhere to all policies and protocols outlined in the Meals on Wheels Handbook, including personal safety, body mechanics, client safety, and food safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency credential.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Reliable source of transportation and minimal insurance coverage as per CAPBM’s Personnel Policies & Procedures Handbook.
• Ability to lift coolers containing meals weighing up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, and wash coolers.
• Successful completion of criminal record and driving record checks.

• Organize efficient route plans and work under time constraints.
• Attend team and staff meetings as scheduled.
