Job Summary
Seeking a highly experienced Software Engineer to join a team supporting mission-critical Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) programs. The successful candidate will design, develop, deploy, and sustain scalable, cloud-native web applications that leverage Kubernetes to orchestrate containerized services supporting advanced analytics and data-intensive workloads.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications supporting enterprise analytics platforms
- Architect and implement cloud-native applications utilizing Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices-based architectures
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using Python or Java
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, transform, and deliver data supporting enterprise applications
- Develop interactive dashboards and data visualizations using modern front-end frameworks such as React, Solid, or jQuery
- Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
- Develop and execute unit, integration, and end-to-end test plans to ensure software quality, reliability, and maintainability
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting automated software builds, testing, deployment, and release management
- Monitor production applications, troubleshoot performance issues, and implement enhancements to improve system reliability and scalability
- Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, product managers, and mission stakeholders to develop innovative technical solutions
- Communicate technical concepts, system designs, and implementation approaches to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Participate in Agile software development activities, including sprint planning, code reviews, demonstrations, and retrospectives
- Develop and maintain software documentation, design artifacts, interface specifications, and operational procedures
Required Qualifications
- Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph
- Minimum of fourteen (14) years of Software Engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope, type, and complexity
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
- Four (4) additional years of directly related Software Engineering experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree requirement
- Proficiency developing enterprise applications using Python or Java
- Experience with web application development frameworks such as Flask, Django, or Spring Boot
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices
- Experience developing data pipelines and supporting enterprise data processing workflows
- Experience working within Agile software development environments
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture, including Deployments, Pods, Services, Namespaces, ConfigMaps, Secrets, and resource management
- Experience developing or supporting Kubernetes Operators and Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs)
- Experience with Kubernetes monitoring, logging, and observability tools, including Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK Stack
- Experience deploying and managing containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience developing interactive web applications using React, Solid, jQuery, or similar JavaScript frameworks
- Experience with Apache Spark or other distributed data processing frameworks
- Experience supporting cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and DevSecOps practices
- Experience supporting enterprise analytics, distributed systems, or cloud-native application architectures
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this role is: $165,000 - $225,000 USD per year (NBP). Exempt hourly position. 11 paid holidays, minimum of 3 weeks PTO, company sponsored group medical plan, company paid dental, vision, life insurance, and STD/LTD plans.
