About the role
The RN MDS Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, completing, and submitting accurate interdisciplinary MDS Assessments, CAAs, and Care Plans in compliance with CMS RAI Manual Regulations and all applicable laws and standards.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution
- Active RN license in good standing
- Minimum of two years’ nursing experience, preferably in geriatrics
- CRN C certification (clinical compliance)
- CPR certification (must be current)
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and assist with accurate and timely MDS assessments, CCAs, and Care Plans
- Report patient condition changes to the DON
- Educate care staff on CMS RAI Manual updates and regulations
- Review and verify assessments and attest to their completion in CMS QIES system
- Monitor CMS reports for assessment timeliness and develop prevention systems
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and perform staff nurse duties as needed
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with policies
- Provide excellent customer service, demonstrate good judgment, and work effectively within a team
