MDI Mechanic - 2nd Shift
About the role
The MDI Mechanic - 2nd Shift position is available exclusively to local applicants. No global assignments or positions outside of Cipla's U.S. subsidiaries or affiliates.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform all functions according to cGMP and SOPs.
- Install, repair, and troubleshoot process equipment, including electrical, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
- Maintain and correct malfunctions in operating machines.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Select and collect necessary parts from the storeroom for repairs.
- Collaborate with other mechanics to set up, troubleshoot, and repair process equipment.
- Ensure "Downtime," "Change Over Time," "PM's," and "Productivity" goals are met.
- Complete PMs within the required timeframe to maintain equipment efficiency.
- Communicate potential equipment deterioration through the parts logbook and troubleshooting forms.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area with all automatic equipment functioning at 100%.
- Follow safe procedures and use Log Out/Tag out and safety equipment during repairs.
- Recommend improvements to equipment maintenance to reduce costs and safety hazards.
- Restart machines quickly when needed due to business requirements.
- Provide immediate feedback to the supervisor on unsafe equipment or working conditions.
- Adhere to CIPLA’s Safety, Health, and Environmental policies.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2-4 years of experience in packaging with knowledge of repair and maintenance activities, preferably in a pharmaceutical company.
Skills/Competencies
- Knowledge of cGMP, SOPs, and FDA regulations.
- Clear communication in English (verbal and written).
- Self-motivated, capable of handling a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic math skills and excellent attention to detail.
