About the role
CGS is looking for an Intelligence Simulation Technician, MID to support the US Army's Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) at Fort Leavenworth, KS. This role combines technical skills with big picture thinking to make an impact on national security.
Responsibilities
- System Administration: Manage servers, workstations, virtual machines, networks, and simulation software (WARSIM) and the JLCCTC Cross Domain Solution Suite (JCDSS).
- Technical Support: Act as subject-matter expert for hardware, software, and basic networking troubleshooting.
- Installation & Maintenance: Install, configure, and update simulation applications and peripheral devices.
- Configuration Management: Maintain hardware and software baselines across distributed nodes and exercise networks.
- Exercise Support: Deploy, test, and troubleshoot constructive simulations.
- Simulation Stimulation: Validate that JLCCTC outputs correctly stimulate Mission Command environments.
- Post-Exercise Analysis: Support After Action Review (AAR) tools by capturing, replaying, and exporting simulation data.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Coordinate with exercise planners, instructional designers, and senior leaders to refine training scenarios.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- DoDM 8140 qualifications with primary DoD Cyber Work Force (DCWF) role of Technical Support Specialist and secondary roles of System Administrator and Product Support Manager at tier, Intermediate
- Three (3) years of experience with Military training and training support
- Three (3) years of experience in integrating training environments, planning architectures, and stimulation of Army Mission Command Information Systems (MCiS) in support of unit training events and distributed exercises
- Three (3) years of experience in performing system enhancements and installing software updates.
- Proficiency with JLCCTC applications (WARSIM) and WARSIM's intel model WIM or equivalent constructive simulation tools.
- Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs) and secure LAN/WAN operations.
- Familiarity with DoD configuration and patch management processes (DISA STIGs, SCAP).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical documentation skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to instruct non-technical military personnel
- Active DOD Top Secret clearance is required.
