MCTC Production Team Leader

About the role

Coordinate the day-to-day activities of a multi-functional team, reporting to the Production Group Leader. Responsibilities include holiday and absence management, Health & Safety, cost and quality control, and productivity improvement through your team of Technicians and Team Members.

Responsibilities

• Deliver all aspects of MCTC manufacturing processes in line with targets, KPIs, gateways, and objectives set by the Production Manager.
• Support the Group Leader with performance management for the Production team.
• Provide containment for QCRs (Quality Concern Reports) within 24 hours.
• Support continuous improvement to reduce cost and improve quality and productivity in series production.
• Apply analytical skills and judgement to generate solutions for manufacturing challenges.
• Build effective cross-functional relationships and contribute to a high-performance team environment.
• Ensure team members follow procedures, specifications, and SOPs produced by MCTC engineering and comply with the company’s quality standards.
• Responsible for own and others' health and safety; report unsafe conditions promptly for corrective action.
• Ensure EH&S risk assessments comply with company Health & Safety standards and are maintained for audits.
• Use problem-solving methodologies (e.g., PPS or 8D) to support activities to close QCRs promptly in line with McLaren PPS (Practical Problem Solving).
• Demonstrate knowledge of quality systems, regulatory requirements, and related standards.
• Support delivery of products to meet budgets, expenditure, timing, and delivery targets.
• Experience in change management systems.
• Support delivery of Process Specifications and associated manufacturing instructions, including training documentation, in line with McLaren standards.
• Support the development of associated capabilities (People, Tooling, Machinery, Materials, Process development, quality, cost, productivity, supply chain).
• Coordinate work and delivery of development for team members.
• Support special manufacturing processes when required.
• Perform other duties or ad-hoc Production tasks as needed.

Requirements

• No formal qualifications are necessary, though a foundation in Manufacturing is beneficial.
• Understanding and experience in a quality, manufacturing, or process-driven environment.
• Broad job knowledge of automotive processes and specific skills for the area in question.
• Quality-focused with a good level of knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
• Knowledge or understanding of 8D or problem-solving techniques.
