MCPP - Shipboard Engineer (Construction) Equipment Mechanic
THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA WITH DUTY ASSIGNMENT ABOARD A SHIP IN GUAM, SAIPAN, OR DIEGO GARCIA. No relocation necessary.
About the role
The Marine Corps' Prepositioning (MCPP) Program provides maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Navy. As a Shipboard Engineer (Construction) Equipment Mechanic, you will perform high-level preventative maintenance and repairs to diesel engines and gasoline and diesel-driven construction equipment such as tractors, power shovels, road machinery, air compressors, concrete mixers, and other engine-driven or towed construction equipment. You will provide technical assistance, guidance, or training to lower-level mechanics and assist higher-level mechanics. Other tasks may be assigned as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and gasoline/diesel-driven construction equipment.
- Provide technical assistance, guidance, or training to lower-level mechanics.
- Assist higher-level mechanics as needed.
- Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- 4 years of directly related work experience.
- Completion of the Basic Engineer Program Mechanics Course or equivalent.
- Completion of the Engineer Equipment Chief Course or equivalent.
- Must maintain a valid passport.
- Must have a valid State Driver’s License.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
- U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Base Access.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
