MCPP - Material Specialist III
About the Role
Performs functions relating to technical research, requisitioning, stockage computation, stockage replenishment, custodial record keeping, issue, disposal, redistribution, and tracking of equipment, supplies, and publications for the Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) in Jacksonville, Florida. Operates personal computers, multimedia data entry, scanning and retrieval systems, generates routine reports, and performs technical research for customer inquiries within GCSS-MC, MDSS II, and other systems of record. Maintains and prepares inventory control reports, custody records, performs reconciliations, and administers expenditure of allocated funds in accordance with the approved Statement of Work (SOW). Uses critical thinking skills to identify and resolve data output and supply administration problems, including the use of automated systems (both hardware and software). Provides training and guidance to lower-level employees.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical research, requisitioning, and stockage computation.
- Maintain custodial record keeping, issue, disposal, redistribution, and tracking of equipment, supplies, and publications.
- Operate personal computers and multimedia data entry systems; generate routine reports.
- Perform technical research for customer inquiries within GCSS-MC, MDSS II, and other systems of record.
- Maintain and prepare inventory control reports and custody records; perform reconciliations.
- Administer the expenditure of allocated funds in accordance with the approved Statement of Work (SOW).
- Use critical thinking to identify and resolve supply administration problems.
- Provide training and guidance to lower-level employees.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- 4 years of related work experience.
- Completion of a basic enlisted military supply course or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of Department of Defense logistic functions relative to large-scale organization logistics and supply chain support.
- Working knowledge of GCSS-MC or equivalent Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) technologies.
- Working knowledge of various computer capabilities, features, and functions.
- Ability to read, interpret, and respond to communication from higher headquarters, such as Disposition Instructions (WIR) and Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDR).
- Ability to comply with established methods, quality standards, and time schedules.
- U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Base Access.
