Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with members.
- Offer continuous motivation, support, and accountability.
- Conduct fitness assessments to establish baseline measurements and identify member goals.
- Provide follow-up consultations to monitor progress and adjust programs.
- Design and implement personalized training programs based on individual needs, preferences, and fitness levels.
- Ensure the fitness area is clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Follow all YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety.
- Respond to and report any accidents or incidents promptly.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A nationally recognized personal training certification (e.g., NASM, ACE, ACSM) is required.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certification is required (or willingness to obtain within the first 30 days of employment).
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to design and implement effective and engaging fitness programs.
- Knowledge of anatomy, exercise physiology, and nutrition.
- Ability to motivate and inspire individuals of all fitness levels.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Physical ability to demonstrate exercises, lift and carry fitness equipment, and assist members with physical activities.
