MC Bus Assembly - B Crew

About the role

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is seeking a MC Bus Assembly - B Crew (Switchboard Bus Assembler, 1st Shift) based at the Sumter, SC facility.

Responsibilities

• Work from manufacturing information such as front views, bill of materials, drawings, blueprints, order entry systems, and oral or written instructions to assemble metal bus bars and other switchboard components, proactively identifying missing components.
• Utilize various hand tools and a tape measure to accurately measure and install material by following established procedures.
• Maintain expected job progress in assigned area and communicate problem areas or part shortages.
• Proactively identify process improvement opportunities and complete root cause analysis for quality or production issues.
• Be responsible for quality: perform visual inspections before and after assembly, identify nonconforming parts, troubleshoot errors.
• Contribute to a safe, engaged, inclusive work culture by complying with safety policies, using PPE, operating equipment properly, and performing 5S duties.
• Cross‑train and stand in for other employees or job functions as needed.

Requirements

• Experience in complex assembly operations or assembly requiring drawings or diagrams.
• Experience with measuring devices (tape measure and calipers).
• Experience reading blueprints, manufacturing diagrams or drawings, or operating instructions.
• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• No relocation benefit offered.
• Candidates must reside within a 50‑mile radius of the Sumter facility.

Qualifications

• Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Utilize various hand tools to assemble and verify quality in switchboards/panelboards in a Lean environment.
• Ability to read and comprehend front views, one‑line diagrams, bills of material, tape measure, and pick sheets.

• Strong verbal and written communication, persuasive, and analytical problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work with individuals and groups to participate effectively in a team environment.
• Willing to work flexible hours and overtime to support business needs.
• Exhibit strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to resolve obstacles or delays in the production process.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $16.50 per hour. This figure is a general guideline; actual salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, and market/business considerations.

Schedule

Monday–Thursday, 3:00 pm – 1:00 am.
