MB Quality Auditor

Position Summary

Quality Specialists are responsible for auditing product & raw materials while advising production & operations team members as process sustainment or adjustments are required to meet or exceed customer requirements. Supports the 4 Basics of our business: Safe and clean workplace, Quality at or above expectations, Complete on-time delivery, Fashionable products at a fair price.

Essential Functions

• In-person attendance
• Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process raw materials or finished goods
• Receive and inspect raw materials
• Test & interpret results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on appropriateness of data for release
• Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions
• Perform visual inspections of finished products
• Serve as a technical liaison between quality control and other departments, vendors, or contractors
• Train others including operators from production departments
• Use general hand tools (such as hammers) and office supplies (such as staplers)
• Supports, maintains and sustains 6S initiatives
• Supports Continuous Improvement by participating in and sustaining the MasterBrand Production System (MPS)
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Knowledge and Experience

• Read tape measures, measure parts, read order tickets
• Ability to identify parts necessary to assemble cabinets doors, drawers and/or complete cabinets by species, size and style
• Knowledge of procedures for the safe and proper handling of hazardous chemicals and materials
• Understanding of decimal/fraction/metric calculation and conversion
• Learn to identify cabinet profiles and colors involved in cabinet manufacturing
• Utilizes electronic email & document management software, and imaging / measurement equipment

Work Environment

Manufacturing environment, with frequent exposure to wood dusts, and cabinet-making related materials such as wood glue, requiring eye protection. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures due to non-climate controlled environment. Exposure to sounds over 85 dB, requiring ear protection.

Sensory / Physical Requirements

Sensory: Frequent speaking, hearing, near vision, far vision and touch.

Physical: Frequent head/neck static position, rotation, flexion and extension. Frequent change in torso/back position, frequent stooping, bending and twisting. Frequent finger dexterity. Frequent simple grasp, firm grasp and wrist flexion. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, and climbing of stairs and ramps. Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching and carrying. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive-motion tasks for the duration of working shift.
