Mayborn Center - Bartender/Server

Ready to start your career with the City of Temple? Join us as a Bartender/Server and provide outstanding beverage service to guests at the Mayborn Convention Center. This part-time position is tied to the Convention Events Calendar and requires working nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Sell and serve food and alcoholic beverages according to TABC standards
• Accept money and credit cards, and balance cash draws daily
• Possess familiarity with menus and explain ingredients and preparation of all items
• Welcome guests/customers in a friendly, courteous manner at all times
• Interact tactfully and professionally with the public and customers per Department Customer Service Standards
• Follow all City and Convention Center financial policies
• Clean serving and bar areas and store equipment properly
• Assist Manager with pre-event and post-event inventories and other duties as assigned
• Follow City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year of experience providing similar food/beverage services

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in private clubs

Certifications and Licenses

• Valid driver’s license
• Texas Food Handler’s Certification or ability to obtain within two (2) weeks of hire
• TABC Certification or ability to obtain within two (2) weeks of hire
