Math Tutor - Small Group Instruction - AmeriCorps Service
About the role
Blueprint Schools Network believes every student deserves high-quality, personalized instruction. As an AmeriCorps Math Fellow, you'll provide intensive, small-group math instruction to support students' academic success.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily, small-group math instruction for small cohorts of students.
- Track student progress and adapt instructional approaches in real time using assessment data.
- Foster strong, trusting relationships with students to build academic confidence and engagement.
- Partner closely with classroom teachers, school administrators, and fellow AmeriCorps members to align tutoring with classroom instruction.
- Engage in daily planning sessions, 1-on-1 coaching, and structured professional development (up to 72 hours per year).
- Maintain service commitments by completing required service hours over the course of the school year.
Qualifications
- Current enrollment in a degree program, prior enrollment, or completion of an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
- Proficiency in English; Spanish language skills are a plus.
- Passion for educational equity, strong communication skills, empathy, adaptability, and a desire to work directly with students.
- Ability to commit to the full school-year term of service and reliably commute to assigned school placement.
Pay
The AmeriCorps Math Fellows Program offers a bi-weekly living allowance rather than a salary or hourly wage over the term of service (academic school year). The final living allowance falls within a specific band determined by the local school/program day schedule and average daily on-site service hours.
