The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects thousands of students nationwide with online tutors. As a Texas Certified Teacher on our platform, you’ll leverage your classroom expertise in a flexible, remote tutoring environment. Set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a meaningful impact on students—all from home.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring with personalized instruction tailored to individual student needs.
• Accept on-demand tutoring requests when available (Instant Tutoring).
• Diagnose student gaps, adjust pacing, and explain concepts using multiple methods to meet diverse learning needs.
• Apply TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) standards in one-on-one instruction.
• Adapt teaching methods to address common student struggles and learning styles.

Requirements

• Active Texas Teaching Certificate: Must hold a current, valid certificate issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Certificate number required for verification.
• Subject Matter Expertise: Deep knowledge in your certified subject area(s), with ability to connect K-12 curriculum concepts to student needs across grade levels.
• Classroom Teaching Experience: Demonstrated experience in a Texas classroom setting.
• Conceptual and Adaptive Instruction: Skilled at diagnosing learning gaps, adjusting instruction, and explaining concepts through multiple approaches.
• Strong communication skills and an engaging, friendly teaching style.
