About the role
New Haven Public Schools seeks to hire a dedicated Mathematics teacher for the 25-26 and 26-27 school years. The position offers a range of leadership development opportunities such as curriculum facilitator, teacher facilitator, and participation in the Yale-New Haven Teachers Institute. Responsibilities
- Teach mathematics to students in grades 7-12
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards
- Assess student progress and provide feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching methods and curriculum
- Participate in professional development activities
Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a Mathematics 7-12 Certification (029)
- Experience teaching mathematics at the secondary level
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other educators and staff
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mathematics or related field preferred
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices
Skills
- Effective classroom management skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs
- Proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning
Pay
Salary contingent on degree and years of experience, ranging from $51,421 to $104,297 for the 25-26 school year and $53,220 to $108,047 for the 26-27 school year.
Schedule
The schedule for this position is typically 180 days per year, with summers off.
