Duties And Responsibilities
- Offers intervention services for students with the greatest need.
- Collaborates and coaches teachers using research-based instructional strategies.
- Advocates math practices that align with division expectations.
- Serves on the school literacy intervention team.
- Maintains accountability.
- Provides direct services/instruction (a minimum of 50% of time) to students.
- Spending 50% of time working directly with math teachers and on curriculum tasks, assessments, professional development, and/or other related tasks to improve the division's math program.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)
- Possess effective instructional delivery techniques and excellent communication skills.
- Must possess knowledge of the needs of students requiring remedial math instruction.
- Valid certification to meet state requirements with specific endorsement in elementary or middle school education, secondary mathematics, or K-8 mathematics specialist.
- Applicant must have three or more years of experience as a Mathematics Teacher or K-8 Teacher with sufficient time spent in the teaching of mathematics.
- Applicant who has had teaching experience must have an acceptable rating on such teaching.
Supervision Exercised
- Coaches and collaborates with teachers.
Supervision Received
- Performs duties under the supervision of the school administrators; receives instruction and support from the division Coordinator of Mathematics.
