Math & Science Teacher - Claiborne Virtual Learning Academy Grades 7 - 12

About the role

A Tennessee public school virtual teacher (grades 7-12) provides remote, standards-aligned instruction in mathematics and science, utilizing online platforms to deliver live sessions and asynchronous content in a hybrid setting.

Responsibilities

• Developing lesson plans
• Grading assignments
• Tracking student progress
• Maintaining active communication with families
• Delivering daily/weekly live virtual lessons
• Providing virtual office hours for personalized support
• Creating or adapting curriculum to align with Tennessee Academic Standards
• Evaluating student progress through online quizzes, tests, and projects
• Maintaining regular communication with students, parents, and school administrators regarding student progress, attendance, and technical issues
• Maintaining proficiency in virtual classroom tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom) and learning management systems
• Conducting small group or large group virtual science labs and math instruction
• Providing individualized support for students working from home
• Documenting attendance, grades, and progress in school database systems

Qualifications

• Licensure & Experience: Must possess a valid Tennessee teaching license in the respective subject area (math or science). Experience in virtual teaching or classroom instruction is required.
• Residency: Must reside in Tennessee.
• Certification: Tennessee state certification in 7-12 math or science.
• Experience: Previous online teaching experience preferred, alongside 2-3 years of classroom experience.
