Math/Reading Instructional Aide
About the role
The Edith Bowen Laboratory School seeks an enthusiastic and skilled Instructional Aide to support teachers in delivering a comprehensive educational program. The position involves preparing materials, conducting assessments, and working with students in various capacities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare materials for lessons, demonstrations, and assessments
- Complete training on school-wide assessment systems, including state mandated ethics training
- Conduct regular assessments in multiple grade levels with fidelity checks to ensure assessments are valid and reliable
- Operate equipment including computers, printers, photocopiers, and laminators
- Ensure students have all necessary materials for class activities
- Work with students in small groups for extension or remediation
- Provide extra help as needed to students with physical, mental, or linguistic limitations
- Maintain detailed records of students' progress on instructional or behavioral goals
- Communicate regularly with classroom teachers regarding students' progress
- Create a positive and supportive group environment where students are held to high expectations and given support as needed
- Enforce school rules and policies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least one year of relevant experience in an educational or childcare setting
- Associate’s degree in education or related field preferred
Benefits
This position offers flexible scheduling during the school day (roughly 8:30-3:00 on school days), with a minimum of 20 hours per week. The position is indoors and requires occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Pay
The advertised salary range for this position is $15.25 per hour.
Schedule
The position is scheduled from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
