Math Interventionist SY 2025-2026

About the role

The Math Interventionist supports student achievement in Mathematics, focusing on Tier II and III Instruction. They provide individual or small group instruction to students who are struggling academically and monitor, report, and communicate student progress and performance.

Responsibilities

• Teach district approved curriculum
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning
• Prepare instructional materials including digital, kinesthetic, visual, and oral presentations
• Monitor and report student progress and performance
• Maintain data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress
• Provide data to school teams and participate in decisions about student progress
• Provide diagnostic assessments for students as needed
• Build and maintain effective relationships with school administrators, staff, students, and families
• Implement assessment tools and data management systems
• Collaborate with teachers, administration, and families to help identify best practices for individual and small groups of students
• Use identified research-based interventions focused specifically on individual student needs
• Support implementation of assessment tools and data management systems
• Supports program development

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education
• Valid NMPED Teacher's License (level II or level III) with proper endorsement
• Ability to complete requirements of Every Student Succeeds Act formally the No Child Left Behind Act regulations
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Knowledge of collaboration practices, team teaching practices, and special education
