Purpose of the Role

As a Math Intervention Teacher, you will drive the academic growth of small groups of students through targeted instruction and data-driven support.

Responsibilities

• Work individually or in small groups with students to assess their current level of performance.
• Provide targeted instruction tailored to the needs of each student.
• Write lesson plans and analyze data under the direction of the Intervention Coordinator.
• Treat all children with dignity and respect.
• Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs, including in-service training as required by the district.
• Operate and care for instructional equipment used in the classroom.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or immediate supervisor.
• Assist with student supervision outside the classroom, such as during field trips, play periods, lunchroom activities, and dismissal.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding children, their families, and other employees.
• Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Cooperate and share professionally with other staff members.
• Promote high academic achievement for all children, flexibility in teaching and learning, and improved linkages among schools, parents, and communities.

Requirements

• College credit hours in the field of Education OR a valid IL teaching certificate.
• Experience working with children, preferably children with disabilities.
• Be in the process of becoming professionally prepared to supervise young children.
• Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
• Successful results of criminal and employment background checks.

• Good knowledge of company and school policies and procedures.
• Detailed knowledge of Federal, State, and local requirements for K-12 schools and charter school law (preferred).

Work Environment

While performing the responsibilities of this position, the work environment includes usual office conditions. The role may require travel within or outside the state.
