Math Instructor - Elementary
About the role
The Part-Time Instructor will teach engaging curriculum using company-created materials designed for advanced students to lead small classes in math. They will engage students actively, provide feedback on tests and assignments, and build relationships with students and families to make a lasting impact on their educational journey. They will inspire a love for learning and critical thinking in math.
Responsibilities
- Teach math classes in small groups
- Provide feedback on tests and assignments
- Lead student-led learning activities
- Manage up to 16 students in a classroom setting
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students and families
- Inspire a love for learning and critical thinking in math
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related or educational field is strongly preferred
- Strong content knowledge in math
- Classroom teaching experience at the K-12 level is preferred

- Passionate about math and inspiring young minds
- Expertly manage up to 16 students
- Engage students in each class or student-led learning

Skills
- Effective communication skills

Pay
$35.00 - $35.25/hour
Schedule
- Afterschool hours (as early as 4pm)
- Weekends
- Two-week camps between June - August
Campus Location
This is an in-person position at our Portland location. Candidates must be located in Portland, OR or the greater area and must be able to commute to our campus.

Requirements for Employment

- Likely to be a full-time position, but can be part-time
