Responsibilities
- Teach advanced Math 3 topics, including polynomial and rational functions, logarithmic and exponential modeling, trigonometric functions and identities, statistics (normal distributions and inference), and geometric modeling with volume and cross-sections.
- Explain complex concepts such as polynomial division, unit circle values, and margin of error to prepare students for precalculus, AP courses, and college mathematics placement.
- Break down and teach problem-solving techniques for polynomial long division, logarithmic equations, and trigonometric identities.
- Guide students through modeling periodic phenomena, analyzing rational function behavior, performing statistical inference with confidence intervals, and solving geometric design problems.
- Emphasize mathematical modeling and connect advanced functions to real-world applications in biology, physics, and financial analysis.
- Adapt instruction using graphing technology, data analysis projects, and cumulative review strategies to support students preparing for AP Mathematics, SAT, or college-level coursework.
- Identify and address common student challenges, such as graphing rational functions, understanding logarithmic scales, and applying the normal distribution.
- Use multiple teaching approaches to explain material and adapt instruction to individual learning needs and styles.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of Math 3 topics, including Integrated Math 3 curricula and Common Core standards.
- Strong conceptual teaching and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt instruction to different learning styles and student needs.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
- Familiarity with common student challenges and effective strategies to address them.
