Maternal Child Clinical Nursing Instructor (Part-Time)

As a Part-Time Visiting Professor, you will inspire motivated nursing students to achieve their educational and career goals. Schedule

Scheduling is determined based on course needs and clinical specialty for each 8-week session:

• Clinical instructors are typically scheduled for 2-3 consecutive 12-hour shifts over 1-2 weeks per session.
• Additional dates may not always be available, and clinical dates are not guaranteed for every session.
• Maternal OB Nursing: Students demonstrate nursing skills in an inpatient Labor & Delivery unit, focusing on family-centered care, health promotion, and the childbearing cycle.

Responsibilities

• Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service.
• Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads.
• Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care.
• Make yourself available to staff at clinical agencies.
• Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students based on course objectives.
• Provide remediation to students as needed.
• Maintain current knowledge of agency/clinical policies and procedures.
• Develop and post written clinical assignments tailored to students’ knowledge and skill levels.
• Return corrected homework, quizzes, tests, and other assignments in a timely manner.
• Contribute to program development, implementation, and evaluation.
• May teach didactic course content under the supervision of a course coordinator.
• Keep the course coordinator informed of student and agency issues.
• Collaborate with administration, staff, and faculty to improve college operations and student satisfaction.
• Participate in the College Assessment Program, retention efforts, and policy implementation.
• Serve as a professional role model in areas such as customer service, collaboration, communication, and professionalism.
• Utilize relationship skills for group problem-solving, consensus-building, and negotiation.
• Comply with all regulatory rules and standards.
• Report to the dean or assistant dean; a course coordinator will provide direct oversight.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Nursing (Required).
• 2+ years of experience within the last five years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse (Required).
• Professional Nurse licensure in the state of practice (Required).
• Excellent communication skills with a high level of initiative and prudent judgment.

Pay

The expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 per assignment to $7,245 per assignment, depending on education, experience, course type, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
