Maternal Child Clinical Faculty (Part-Time), Oklahoma City, OK

About the Role

Chamberlain College of Nursing seeks qualified Part-Time Maternal Child Faculty for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in Oklahoma. Teaching is conducted onsite in a clinical setting with one of our clinical partners. The schedule typically involves 12-hour rotations (7 a.m.–7 p.m.) for three to four consecutive days.

The Maternal-Child Nursing course focuses on family-centered approaches to maternal/newborn care, incorporating health promotion and wellness. Topics include the childbearing cycle (normal experiences, high-risk factors, complications, and alterations) and women’s health issues. Experiential learning occurs across diverse populations and settings.

Responsibilities

• Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service.
• Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments.
• Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care.
• Evaluate and document student performance based on course objectives, providing feedback and remediation as needed.
• Maintain current knowledge of agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with assistance from clinical personnel.
• Develop and post written clinical assignments aligned with students’ knowledge, skill competency, and learning needs.
• Grade homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work in a timely manner.
• May teach didactic course content under the supervision of a course coordinator.
• Keep the course coordinator informed of student and agency issues or concerns.
• Report to the dean, assistant dean, or course coordinator; a course coordinator will provide direct oversight.
• Contribute to program development, implementation, and evaluation.
• Collaborate with administration, staff, and faculty to improve college operations and student satisfaction.
• Participate in the College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and policy implementation.
• Serve as a professional role model in areas such as customer service, collaboration, communication, and professionalism.
• Utilize relationship skills for group problem-solving, consensus-building, and negotiation.
• Comply with applicable regulatory rules and standards.

Qualifications

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
• An unencumbered professional nursing license in the state of Oklahoma.
• At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse.
• Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required.
• Passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
• Exceptional subject matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to serving students and colleagues with passion, respect, and care.
• Illinois RN License will be required to teach all courses (assignments prioritized for professors currently licensed in Illinois).

Pay

The expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 and $7,245 per assignment, adjusted based on factors such as course type, experience, geographic location, licensure, market conditions, and departmental budgets.
