- Develop post-forming processes to meet product specifications, e.g. finishing, shaping, ceraming.
- Understand materials attributes and linkages to composition and forming.
- Design, analyze, and conduct validation experiments to generate material& process fundamentals. Includes leveraging appropriate characterization and measurements as well as developing and deploying statistical approaches and design of experiments (DOE).
- Conduct failure mode analysis to determine root cause and identify path to improve performance, yields, costs and safety.
- Work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Experiences/Education - Required
- PhD in materials science, physics, chemistry or other relevant field, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated deep knowledge and skills in understanding material system(s), chemistry and physics of interfaces and solving the related problem
- Proven ability to define, execute, analyze, and communicate results from experiments
- Proven ability to perform independent scientific work from concept to documentation
- Ability to make data-driven decisions by combining analytical thinking with practical judgment
- Ability to work effectively across disciplines and coordinate laboratory analysis and testing
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of RF materials
- Direct laboratory experience with the equipment and test methods used in glass or ceramic melting, forming, and/or firing
