Materials Specialist

About the Role

We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Materials Specialist (South) in our Pewaukee, Wisconsin location. This position is represented by Local 2150 and is a first shift role with hours from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Works with business units, contractors, and suppliers to define and schedule resources to meet material and service requirements.
• Orders, receives, and inventories materials using SAP.
• Monitors storeroom levels and conducts physical reviews to verify and adjust discrepancies for accurate inventory management.
• Unloads, inspects, and enters material/service data into the computer for tracking.
• Contacts suppliers and the sourcing group to resolve shipment and invoicing issues.
• Uses equipment and hand tools to distribute materials to internal and external customers.
• Handles and prepares materials for delivery across various locations in the WE service territories.
• Coordinates packaging and site delivery of materials and equipment as requested.
• Delivers materials to job sites or other service centers.
• Operates a forklift as needed.
• Performs miscellaneous duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

• Three years of warehouse and powered industrial truck experience, or an Order Picker with greater than one year of experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
• Some business units may require obtaining an interstate commercial driver’s license (CDL, Class B) within 90 days of starting the job.
• May require unescorted access to critical cyber assets, necessitating satisfaction of Company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, including a background investigation.
• Ability to perform physical functions of the position, as demonstrated by completing a Physical Capacity Evaluation.

Qualifications

• Stores Aptitude (STRS): Understanding of mechanical concepts, spatial visualization, and detail comparison.
• Materials Specialist & Storeroom Structured Interview (MATL-STRS): Competencies include Decision Making, Building Customer Loyalty, Managing Work, Safety Awareness, Work Standards, and Communication.
