Key Responsibilities
- Conduct cutting-edge research on grain boundary engineering to develop materials with optimized properties for various applications.
- Design and synthesize new materials, focusing on controlling and manipulating grain boundaries to achieve desired properties.
- Use advanced characterization techniques to analyze grain boundary structures and their effects on material properties.
- Develop and implement methods to control grain boundary characteristics during material processing and manufacturing.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including other scientists, engineers, and product development teams, to integrate grain boundary engineered materials into products.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, research papers, and presentations to communicate findings and progress to stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements in grain boundary engineering and materials science to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
- Ensure all research activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Physics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grain boundary engineering and materials science research, preferably in an industrial or academic setting.
- Proficiency in materials synthesis and processing techniques.
- Expertise in advanced characterization methods such as TEM, SEM, EBSD, and XRD.
- A strong understanding of the principles of grain boundary engineering and its impact on material properties.
- Experience with computational modeling and simulation of grain boundaries is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
