Materials Scientist

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct cutting-edge research on grain boundary engineering to develop materials with optimized properties for various applications.
• Design and synthesize new materials, focusing on controlling and manipulating grain boundaries to achieve desired properties.
• Use advanced characterization techniques to analyze grain boundary structures and their effects on material properties.
• Develop and implement methods to control grain boundary characteristics during material processing and manufacturing.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including other scientists, engineers, and product development teams, to integrate grain boundary engineered materials into products.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, research papers, and presentations to communicate findings and progress to stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements in grain boundary engineering and materials science to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
• Ensure all research activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Physics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grain boundary engineering and materials science research, preferably in an industrial or academic setting.
• Proficiency in materials synthesis and processing techniques.
• Expertise in advanced characterization methods such as TEM, SEM, EBSD, and XRD.
• A strong understanding of the principles of grain boundary engineering and its impact on material properties.
• Experience with computational modeling and simulation of grain boundaries is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
